About us

A massive stone fire-place was off to the right. All sorts of knick-knacks are dotted around the walls, many of them farming related implements and also a couple of old rifles, pewter plates and an aerial photograph of the pub as well as a few horse brasses.

A smaller snug to the rear with an old wooden pew providing the seating, a stuffed bird in a glass case and a few shelves in a corner crammed full of earthenware jugs and such like. The “Public Bar” off to the left includes a pool table and darts board.

Upon stumbling across the Trotter 12 months or so ago it's become our regular haunt where diverse conversation and step back in time surroundings make it a unique place to visit. The friendly locals, owners and staff add to the experience, as do the lovable dogs.

This is a beautiful country pub with a wonderful interior with a piano, animals & loads of memorabilia. Visited whilst on a country pub crawl with a friend but unfortunately, I got strangled on the way out by a local who suspected I was a scammer due to disclosing the nature of my work. Whilst it is their right to defend their pub and the nature of people these days, but I sadly cannot recommend visiting it if you're not local, sorry. This place is simply just better off being closed down to the public and kept as a house. Ruined a wonderful day out Update: didn't realize there was a fox hunting incident recently. Whilst I don't morally agree with it, I cannot tell people what to do, as it their pub and i had no idea until just now. No I didn't visit due to the fox hunting

Love this place good old fashioned pub! no food, and cash only. It makes you feel at home landlord and regulars friendly and cheerful.

Probably the best pub in the south west....totally untouched but loved. Often visit this pub after work! It's no gastro pub..but if your looking for a proper pub look no further 😉 They even have a festival called Trotterfest a must!!

A proper pub, serving proper cider and ale with an open fire. Where the proper characters with their eccentric dogs welcome you with a smile! If you're after music, TV's, people welded to their mobile phones whilst ignoring each other?.....Wedmore is a mile down the road and there are several other drinking establishments ready for your money 😉 On the money front though, the Trotter is cash only, make sure you take enough, and I don't mean their prices though, which are extremely reasonable, I mean that it's quite difficult to leave the pub without having another quick 'half' by the fire!
