Our bustling village pub with 7 en-suite bedrooms and an outstanding kitchen led by Tom Blake from River Cottage.
We’re open all day for a quick drink, a snack or a delicious meal. Come and sit in our bar beside a woodburner, watch the world go by at tables out front, dine in the restaurant or alfresco on the terrace – or just enjoy the peace of the garden.
We have completely refurbished The Swan, sympathetically modernising the building and restoring much of the original eighteenth & nineteenth century architecture. Opening as a Beer House in the early 1700s, the property was subsequently enlarged to become ‘The Swan Hotel’ from the mid 1800s with rooms, stables and coaching yard. After many years in the hands of indifferent pub companies, The Swan is now firmly back in business!.

Comfortable well appointed pub/ Hotel. Spacious, comfortable room with flat screen TV. Heating control in the room which is always preferable. Staff friendly and efficient. Good quality food at reasonable price but the menu a little restricted. Real ales on offer as well as keg beers and lager.
Ate there after visiting a nearby nature reserve. Probably the weirdest fish and chips of my life. Dry fibrous chewy fish in a coating that was near impossible to crack with a knife and felt like day old croutons in the mouth. I could not eat most of it. And I am not someone who leaves food on the plate, even if tasteless. No one came to ask the customary "is everything okay?" either so I couldn't even ask for another thing. Just left after eating the chips, which were good to be fair. But not worth another visit.
3rd time staying here this year for work, I love it. Rooms are super cosy, staff are very friendly and attentive, the food is to die for! Wonderful pub.
Mellow ambience and relaxed- prices justify the quality of the food and drink, alcoholic or not. On the day I was there was a pop up bakery and the produce didn't disappoint The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. One of my tests of a place is the quality of the rest rooms which were classy, clean and maintained. Highly recommend - my local place of choice for business or social.
We had dinner here a few days ago on the recommendation of some fellow travellers. They proved to be spot on with their judgement. We enjoyed a prr dinner drink at the bar which was delightful. The bar was high-end English Pub and plenty of locals were enjoying the evening over a drink. We moved to the dining room to enjoy a well presented and served meal and enjoyed a few glasses of Bordeaux. The ambience was modern and the decor was chic. An evening we will remember. Highly recommended.

This classic village inn is the centre for many local events including the famous annual turnip prize, spoof and penny chuffin'. The public bar, lounge and dining areas are complemented by a beer garden to the rear.
Crickham, Wedmore, BS28
An unspoilt country pub, somewhat off the beaten track although actually quite close to main the Cheddar to Wedmore road. Internally it consists of three rooms, with the “smoking room” and bar counter off to the right as you go in.
