We have just eaten here tonight. I had their signature burger, and my partner had a cheese and bacon burger. Both came with a generous helping of chips and a couple of onion rings. The price was good because we were on a Groupon deal. The service was very attentive. We would definitely eat here again, even though it's not our local.

Thank you for looking after us Michelle, you made us feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was family friendly, with a warming fire keeping us toasty. Every where is kept clean. Our food was tasty, all 4 of us had empty plates. The menu suited all our dietary preferences.

Came in last week having booked a table for 8pm for 5 of us, arrived at 7:50 to be told the kitchen is closed and we shouldn’t have been able to book a table for then. The team leader was rude and abrupt when informing us of this and berated their young colleague behind the bar upon our arrival. Thankfully we were able to be seated but the supervisor’s attitude stunk to high heaven. God knows how you get repeat business if this is how you address colleagues and customers alike.

This is our local and its lovely looking building, great location but having had distinctly average food here shortly after lockdown, we’ve not been since. Called into the beer garden today for a drink and it seems general standards haven’t improved. Given it’s the height of summer the patio/ beer garden is grotty. The little candle holders were fully of water from the rain, as was the full from the night before ash tray. Loads of weeds between the flags, dirty furniture and given we were here around 45 minutes no one took away the leftovers from the next table. If Green King got their finger out and put a proper management team in this place would be a gold mine. Update: Green king got in touch to discuss and requested I email them. Email sent and no response. Clearly just an attempt to appear that they care but obviously they can’t be bothered.

Friendly place, including allowing me to take my spaniel in with me. Lovely real fire which was excellent on a cold November day. Just been in again with friends and once again very friendly. Food was excellent. My friend described his pie as the best he has ever had in a pub? See pics. ********* Update July1 2023 ***"***** Just had a family get together and our meals were really disappointing. The portion size on all of the meals was minimal and the wait was crazy considering there were literally no other tables occupied near us. Don't go for the two meals deal as they really have reduced the meals to kids sizes. My wife's "with salad" consisted of just a bit of lettuce! Daughter's Gravy arrived at end of meal and was disgusting. They have got meal sizes all wrong; put another £1 on the price and add that in chips or rice and people would be happier. First poor meal here in over twenty years visiting, we would think twice before going back. A shame, I'm not sure what has happened but someone needs to consider reputations are hard earned and quickly lost .
