Sat on the grounds of the old Sparke House, the architectural style of the building suggests that the Stretton Fox was built in the early 1900's. Originally a private residence called Sparke Hall, our traditional building sits amongst picturesque gardens, providing a tranquil location in which to unwind.
A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

The food was lovely, very fresh and not overcooked. I also enjoyed my pink gin and coffee. Service was a bit slow when asking for the dessert menu, we asked for it and it didn’t arrive so had to ask again but this was just a small point. It was our first visit to the Stretton Fox and it had a lovely atmosphere. . We will definitely return!
We had a table booked for 6 people, ordered the Sunday roasts. My being the lamb rump sounded perfect for a cold Winter day, well what a disaster I have never had such a bad piece of meat, it was hard to find the meat on the grizzle. Thankfully after raising the issue with the manager it was sorted with something different not the nice roast I expected. Each member of our party ordered extras, including cauliflower cheese, undercooked sent back and a new batch arrived still uncooked, sadly there was so much wasted food uneaten when we finished because it wasn't cooked. Finishing off a nice venue but poor food for the money circa £35 a head .
Four of us just enjoyed our Boxing Day lunch. Our server was Alex who was very attentive and professional. Each of the 3 courses were excellent and we all thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit. Definitely recommend to others - thank you Alex and all at the Stretton Fox!
Our Scout Mini Bus broke down in sub zero temperatures and these guys opened early to welcome us in out of the cold. Absolutely wonderful staff and beautifully kindhearted people. Stunning building. Great place
First visit and the food was amazing, 10oz rib eye was perfectly cooked and no fat or gristle at all. Tripple cooked chips are so nice and the beef dripping gravy is delicious. Wife had hunters chicken and again was on point. Even the kids meals were brilliant, especially the margarita pizza, freshly made and will be visiting again soon hopefully.
