We booked for Xmas eve All communication was done on Facebook saying what meals everyone wanted How when we got there there was only 8 sittings should of been 11 Not everyone wanted Christmas lunch and was told we could use the normal menu as well Deposit was paid previously Most meals were messed up 2 desserts never came out Staff didn't seem friendly We were questioned over paying the deposit And the one staff member was very unprofessional saying she would bar one member of the family because he said it was a shambles This place has been taken over new management they haven't gone out there way to make sure there customers come back I certainly won't be coming back we spent £250 And they will never get any more from us The Welsh family are local and they won't be going in there
First class Sunday dinner for 8 of us service was faultless we will be going back.
We called in here for lunch on May 8th. Service was slow and difficult; we explained our menu choices three times. The food was mediocre and the pub itself was tired and a little dirty with no atmosphere. The food wasn't cheap, it should have been £35 for two mains and a diet coke. I was glad to leave and paid quickly. When I checked the bill I'd been charged and extra 15% service charge without discussion. It honestly wasn't worth the 'service charge' and we were both unwell for a few days after eating there. Never again.
Very conveniently located for us, as just 15 min from where we were staying in Llanthony. Host is friendly and conscientious, and had a fun mix of oldies playing which my family really enjoyed. Food was great too, really surprised by the great taste as portion size and value for money were also top! There was an asparagus and tomato risotto as vegan option and it was truly delicious! Lovely grilled pieces of green asparagus on top, exactly how I love it! *dog friendly* (Visited 08/05/23)
AMAZING Food indeed!!! 👏 😃🤩 Would never expect such unbelievable quality food from an Inn! Mixed grill wonderfully cooked with very generous proportions. (See the pics) I would describe the food quality more like its for a high end restaurant, its locally sourced too! The chef realy knows how to cook and his wife looked after us well while we were there. My sister had a vegetarian tart that she really loved and looked great, mother had a great salmon dish. We all enjoyed our time there eating out on the picnic benched to take in the sun. 🌞 opposite across the road is a great view too. It was a little chilly inside which will make it great for when it's hot in the summer. Plenty of car parking opposite for big gatherings. We only stopped for dinner so don't know much about the rooms, you'd have to look at others reviewing that side of things. If you're coming for the food then enjoy!!! 😉
