Went in for a quick drink and it's a very quaint pub with a lovely log fire and relaxed atmosphere. Gives a little difference and a less pretentious atmosphere than the other bars or pubs on London Road. And for the area not overly expensive as expected for a round. Food looked amazing as well
Lovely inn with friendly staff and nice warm rooms in winter. There is a towel warmer in the bathroom which is a nice touch, and great water temperature/pressure in the shower. Short walk away from all the shops on high street.
Myself and my partner stayed for just one night while visiting the area. The village looked beautiful with all the trees lit up for Christmas and lots of restaurants and quirky style shops to spend your time in. At the hotel we were checked in by a pleasant gentleman who gave us all the information needed for the pub food and closing times and hotel details. The room was quite small but big enough to fit a super king size bed. It was clean and warm and had an extremely powerful shower. We dined in the restaurant later in the evening but be sure to order by 8.45 before the kitchen closes. The service and food was good if not a little expensive and plenty options available for your choice of tipple with a pint of Madre knocking on £6.50-ish. The breakfast was hot, tasty and ideal for a big appetite, its very big! The seating/dining area has little rooms dotted about all with chunky beams and character. All in all we had a lovely stay and if in the area again we would definitely stay here again. (A thank you to the guy at the end of the night who took a picture of us in the grotto)
Went to the De Trafford for a Christmas meal/drinks with ten friends. The food was fantastic but the service was superb. Mike led his team really well and we were looked after from start to finish. Would definitely recommend it as a venue for food/drinks and a huge thank you to Mike and his team for making our evening so memorable
Wonderful service, lovely server Helen who was very chatty and helpful. Food was gorgeous, ambience was great, with fab background music. It was my birthday and I was made to feel very special xx
