As some other reviewers have wrote - either the owner or security is awful here. Was having a few drinks & a dance one saturday night with my small group of friends, nothing rowdy at all (some weren't even drinking)- I pick up one of the little flower vases on the table and have a joke with a friend and pretend to drink it. Then an awful bouncer comes over to me, is aggressive about it and almost throws me out for it - disgraceful place and won't be going back here. You can't have a laugh with your friends here!!
Worst bar in Didsbury. Rough crowd, and £11 for what was more like a shot of coke with a hint for vodka. The bar actually looks okay on the inside, but pretty empty with about 10 old people gunning their jaws off.
The female owner has been absolutely horrible to me, my younger daughter and my husband. I believe the owner went by the name of Queenie or Princess. Upon a lovely reception from the hosts of this establishment we were invited to have a great night. However after spending a considerable amount of money on drinks the owner approached my husband and asked the door staff to escort him outside. When outside the owner told my husband that he is a worthless piece of animal excitement and did not even allow him to go inside and find my daughter who during this rather awful predicament recalled being approached and harassed by a few drunken lads. The door staff meanwhile paid no attention to this as they were orchestrated via finger clicks and pointers by the owner who visibly treated all her staff like they were beneath her. The owner briefly explained to me that my husband of 30 years was asked to leave because he appeared too drunk. My husband has reported this incident to the police. Would ask everyone to avoid this place like the plague.
Bar was extraordinary with live music in evenings and also they have varieties of superb cocktails and also different types alcohol...Staff are very friendly and service at bar was so good.This place has an excellent vibe to chill out....Overall 5 stars... Absolutely Loved it
Zaranda is such a fantastic venue! It’s one of my favourite places to go- the staff are lovely & so welcoming, the drinks are delicious (especially their espresso martinis!), the music is great- & the layout provides the perfect space for dancing without feeling like your separate from everyone else or on show. I celebrated my birthday there last weekend & it literally couldn’t have been more perfect! At the start of the night there was a singer/guitarist on who was just brilliant- he played upbeat songs that everyone knew & danced along to, & he was really funny & sweet too (he kept saying happy birthday to me in between songs). Then later the DJ came on & the music was ace & we were dancing all night. So much fun! I’ve been to Zaranda a lot, & find the music is always great for dancing, & the atmosphere is lovely. The people that go there always seem to be friendly folk … I think that’s testament to the nice area it’s in, but also the work of the brilliant doormen & the inclusive atmosphere the staff create. Huge thanks to everyone at Zaranda for the best night ever! I really can’t recommend this venue more highly… I just love it…. hope to see you there sometime soon!x
