The Woodside's origins were towards the end of the 19th Century, when it was constructed as a private house for use by the managers of the local collieries. Worsley has a long history in the mining industry, with coal being mined in the area since the 14th Century. Although the mines may be gone, the guests keep coming to our traditional building steeped in heritage.
A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Lovely place, clean and spacious. Great food! Jess was lovely! Very nice and professional! The food was bang on! Steaks were cooked beautifully and the sticky platter was so good!! I highly recommend this wonderful place! Can't wait for our next visit!
This was my first time visiting this was a beautiful place, lovely setting making it feel warm, cosy and welcoming. The service was great very lovely, friendly, polite helpful staff. The food was delicious
I visited with friends. We all had a beautiful meal, it may be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The staff were friendly, very helpful and efficient. The food was delicious, a great atmosphere and the people in the pub were very friendly. Dogs are allowed here but I have no issues with this as all the dog owners are very responsible. I would definitely recommend this place and I will return. I had the Chicken Penang curry which was delicious and the pavlova (pictured) it was delicious too!
I got the Sticky Sharing Platter as my starter and main. The Lamb Koftas were really nice, the prawns and chicken were OK and whatever that final tagine contained was vile. So basically 1/5 of the sharing Platter I didn't eat. I was really looking forward to the crumble dessert but the fruit didn't taste great and it was a little cold inside. The waitress that served us I couldn't fault, really attentive throughout. Overall disappointed, value for money just wasn't there for me, maybe I chose poorly.
Went to The Woodside for the first time tonight and can confidently say my husband and I will be going again well worth the money and a must try. The service was fantastic the food came out quickly although it was busy plus the food was piping hot and very tasty.
