About us

A very warm welcome to The Star Inn. A 200 year old traditional former coaching inn situated in the popular village of Roberttown, located just 10 minutes from Junction 25 of the M62.
We pride ourselves in serving quality home cooked food, which you can enjoy in superb surroundings and a relaxed environment. Our chef creates a range of exciting or more traditional dishes which changes seasonally. Look out for our special board which changes on a weekly basis. You can relax in our comfortable bar and lounge, with wood burning fire (in the colder months). In the warmer months take advantage of our lovely, recently refurbished beer garden – bring the children who will love spending time on the bouncy castle (weather permitting!) We over a range of draught lagers and cask ales together with an excellent selection of wines and soft drinks. Also available is our gin menu.
If you are looking for a stunning wedding venue or somewhere to have christening, birthday party or funeral party, you have found the right place.

Grumpy landlord, poor food and only 1 real ale on tap. We had lasagne which was burnt and the batter on our fish was undercooked. We won't be going back which is a shame. The pub has such potential.

The Star's been around for years in various guises. With a bar, dining room and function room. Visited recently for a funeral tea. The pub now has a conservatory set up for food, a bar area and seating for drinkers that doubles for eating. Decor is light and airy and the seating is a mixture of fixed upholstered areas and both upholstered and solid chairs. All are quite comfortable. A buffet was provided and was ample and very tasty. Cooked meats were excellent. On this showing I'll probably go back for a more 'normal' visit. As it is I was impressed.

Visited the Star Sunday Eve 6pm. Pub empty apart from small family eating. Had chicken and leek pie...looks like it had been cooked ages ago. Dry and not nice to look at. Buttery mash was one large desert spoon full and very small helping of veg. My partner had vegetarian Moroccan cuscus was very very dry. Not cheap prices ...poor food. Won't be frequenting this pub again.

Lovely food, friendly staff, nice and quiet environment, dog friendly. What more could you ask from a local pub… 5 stars (as the photo illustrates)

1st visit and definitely not the last. Amazing value for money. The food was really tasty and more than decent portions. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.
