It's a very rough pub there is always trouble most weekends and especially when the weather is hot stay away from the Vulcan there is much better pubs to have a drink with out people wanting to have a go at you

Had my daughters 4th Birthday party here today and she loved every minute of it. I am very happy with how the day has gone and how helpful and friendly the staff are. Thanks for having us 😁😁
Shape makes it feel cramped n bit claustrophobic till get use to it. But everyone is friendly n welcoming. Good bar selection.
I gave it 5 stars because it is nostalgic to me. It was my Dads pub in the 60s, I seem to recall it was his second home. The first time I went in was my last day in school at Bishop Greer on Taylor st. I was promptly marched out. My last visit was in the 80s whilst on leave from the Army. I love the Vulcan but the locals used to call it "The Monkey".
