Malmaison Newcastle holds a proud position on the Quayside adjacent to the beautifully designed Millennium Bridge and looking across the Tyne towards the Baltic and Sage on the Gateshead side. Malmaison Newcastle, with its elegant art nouveau entrance canopy, inhibits a former Co-oerative Society warehouse. With stunning views, a lively and bustling atmosphere and a cosmopolitan feel, this is a hotel full of grandeur and splendour. It has 122 elegantly appointed rooms and suites that span 9 floor.
The perfect location if you are visiting Newcastle. Gorgeous views of the bridges and River. Easy walk to The Baltic, along the water, and then up the hill into town. Feels very quiet and calm despite being so close to the centre of the action. The staff are lovely, very helpful, friendly, and professional. Food was excellent 👌🏾 particularly our breakfast, which was delicious. Thanks to Tessie for a warm welcome. We regularly stay in a Mal and so far Newcastle is the best one.
Nice hotel in a great location on the quayside. Rooms a bit tired and dated, and would benefit from a more contemporary style of decoration. Breakfast - bit of a let down. Service was good, but expected so much more from a hotel chain of this reputation. Parking is very easy and convenient (top floor on the mscp car park out the back) and costs around £10 at the hotel reception.
Lovely hotel! BUT Went to the spa which was amazing, and the to the breakfast is highly recommend. I think overall I was disappointed because my wife got sick shortly after dinner, in hotel, allergy started. She has a fish allergy and I don’t know how but there must of been some cross contamination or something because she was not well. The window in the room wouldn’t close so it was quite cold all night to be honest. It was my wife’s birthday so I ordered the premium room with a river view and I appreciate work has to happen but there was scaffolding blocking the view from the room and restaurant, a shame but it is what it is unfortunately, it takes the shine off. Would be a lovely view normally. It has potential to be a great place and I wish it was perfect so sound crazy based off this review but I’d would try again because I can see the potential. They just need TLC to a few small thing if they want to keep up the luxury image UPDATE spoke to the hotel staff and hotel manager, both lovely people and very accepting of issues and faults. Great group of people and restored my trust in this location to be fair.
My Daughter and I had a spa day with lunch , we both enjoyed the the experience of the spa the staff were exceptional. I had a Iolanda taking care of me she was very attentive explaining everything that she would be doing , my daughter had Rhiannon and equally said how friendly and attentive she was ...we then had lunch which was superb, we were served by Tessie who was such a friendly person making our experience so good, nothing was a bother to her ... we will definitely be back... Thank you for making us feel special
Absolutely loved our time here. We had a suite and cannot fault the room, service, or location. Everything was amazing from start to finish. Definitely coming back 👍🏻 The breakfast staff were fantastic too. Tirso was one who looked after us but they all did a great job 😁
