Consistently good food. As a family we have had our Daughters 21st party here. Sunday lunches. Mother's day and plenty of bar meals Chris and team are brilliant
It's the only pub in Keswick you can call a local for Keswick people. New management have turned it round.(great job) All the staff are polite and welcoming to locals and visitors alike. Above the door it should read, there are no strangers in here just friends you haven't met yet. Looking forward to my next visit.
Such a disappointment. Okay if you don't mind dogs sitting on the seats ( Twa Dogs in fact) one even was allowed to come up close and almost eat the meal on my plate. Very rowdy kids who were allowed to dance around near the bar. And an hour's wait for a very mediocre meal. Won't be back sadly. Update. Thank you for your prompt response. I don't know how to get back to you as requested. Our visit was this evening ( Nov 14th) . I like dogs, but think it very unhygienic to have them literally walking over the seats where people eat ( I have a photo) One was a large golden lab which almost took food from my plate. The other, a small black terrier, sat on the chair by its owner all the time. Dogs should be on the floor, surely? We had to wait an hour between ordering food and it arriving on the table. As we waited the young children mentioned were allowed to climb all over the chairs and tables and as I said, dance around the bar area with no one stopping them.
Amazing service from bar staff! Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. We had the rump steak and the ultimate spicy beef burger, absolutely gorgeous can’t fault anything! 5 minute drive from Keswick perfect location.
We could not have had a warmer welcome. The service was friendly and professional, the staff/manager was able to make recommendations which we took up. The food was lovely and extremely reasonably priced. We were there a long time but we were never pressured to leave. Would definitely go back next time we visit Keswick!! I just hope the weather is better next time!
