The Stocks Inn is a family owned pub with over 50 years experience of pulling pints and serving local food. We are a family friendly pub allowing children.
Cherry and Steve Dyer recently purchased the tenancy for the Stocks Inn and together with our resident managers Drex and Sally Sibley have over 50 years licensed trade experience between us. We all started in the business at a young age!
As local people – three of us grew up in Wimborne – our aim is to support local farmers and suppliers wherever possible and to use only the freshest ingredients in our dishes, many of which have been made on the premises by our head chef Jim. Indeed most of our produce has been sourced from within Dorset and we have spent many hours visiting local farms, chutney producers, bakeries, fisheries and vineyards for wine tasting (certainly the latter being no chore!).
Our aim is to restore the true flavour of a local Dorset pub and we welcome any suggestions or ideas you may have to help us make this happen.

Always made welcome here, the staff are all friendly. The food is good but the menu has not been changed in a long time, there are a few specials normally but a traditional menu.
Went to lunch with some fellow retirees one Thursday in November. We had a good time and did not feel cramped in at our table, despite there being a good number of diners. There is lots of choice on the menu for all courses so our tastes were satisfied. The food was good and hot. In fact we enjoyed ourselves so much that we hope to go back again early next year, which we did. The food and service was just as good.

Great trip here today for a celebration. The team were super friendly and helpful, making sure to check back with us often. Food was really enjoyable and desert portions generous, verging on maybe too large! Will return here for our next family event (it's a 2 hour drive for us but worth it).
Went with friends on a booked visit. A welcome as soon as we stepped inside. Showed us to a nice window table. Allwed a couple of minutes to settle in and handed out the menus. Very friendly and relaxed service. Food was excellent, liver and bacon to die for. Busy atmosphere from a fairly full restaurant. Wonderful experience and will definitely go back. Found the big mirror a bit disconcerting. Those who know, know. Thank you The Stocks.
