Reopened in October 2016 after a period of closure, this traditional stone built free house has had a total refurbishment to a very high standard and updating of the whole building inside and out. Smart open plan interior has three distinctively separate 'areas' which are heated from a centrally located log burner. Well stocked bar with three hand pumps servs the regular house beers of Bass, London Pride and always an offering from the nearby Beartown Brewery from Congleton.
The slightly elevated position offers find views over the surrounding countryside and over the Cheshire plain. Newly installed seating area outside the front door and smoking area to the rear.
So friendly, great beer food and fun, well done on being such a great local!
Lovely find today for Sunday lunch. Warm hosts, cozy pub vibes super chilled atmosphere. Spoke to the owners Mike and Jean, really interesting to hear their story, super friendly chap. Cleo who served us was just gorgeous, very efficient and polite. Will be paying them another visit soon hopefully. Downside is a no dogs indoors policy which wot suit everyone unless you ditch the dog for a day off!
Very friendly, we say in the marquee as we had a pooch with us, but we were made very welcome and were quite cosy. We had a very nice roast chicken, a few too many potatoes for us with roast, new and mashed! Plus bread sauce! But all very tasty, we could have done with a little more gravy but that was minor.
The most friendliest pub I've ever been to. Great ale and fantastic food!!
Delicious lunch here, warm and cosy, lovely friendly waitress, excellent value. Stuffed pepper and huge slice of lemon drizzle.
