Lovely pub with great outdoor areas for both dining and entertaining the children. Cosy in the cooler months with a nice fireplace. Good food and beers.

Could not have picked a better place for our daughters wedding reception. The staff were wonderful, warm, friendly and so helpful. Beautiful setting as well with The Splash running by.

Found this little gem of a pub just outside Louth Weekday visit got a nice car park once you drive through the ford (the Splash) when you get to it. Got a nice bar seating area to sit in Had the bar menu of scampi n chips and Boston sausages and chips It’s good food at good prices Would highly recommend

Lovely pub. Just went there for a Saturday lunchtime meal so cannot comment on the hotel side. Very friendly staff. It was a sunny day so the garden was popular but we had no problem getting a table at Noon (mid-September). There are some covered garden tables as well and a kids' play area. Most garden tables were occupied by 12:30 but it started to clear again by 1pm. The bar area and restaurant were both quiet. Apparently you can only book in the restaurant so garden and bar are first come first served. The food was excellent and the service very quick. Try the crab salad. Beer was good. There were 3 real ales on. One slight drawback (to me anyway) was that they suddenly started playing piped music into the garden and at first it was quite loud, although it did get reduced in volume after a while. Before that it had been blissfully quiet! There is a very long ford (about 250 yards) on one approach to the pub. We were on bikes so could go along the bridge beside it but I would recommend using another approach in a car as the 'ford' is really a 'river'. (This is why the pub is nicknamed The Splash.)

The location you cannot beat, beautiful village. Whilst I haven't eaten there in years (as every restaurant meal there was very disappointing), the food that passed us in the bar looked superb. It is popular but lots of parking around the back. There is a quieter section to sit outside away from the noisy kids play area, if you have young children you'll appreciate the play area though.
