Staff are friendly and engaging. Great value for money. Pub is getting old and tired and needs some tlc. Meals were basic but serviceable. Disappointed that they have put their prices up for beers and food. Are more expensive than some of the well known chains and high end pubs on the green. But will stay there and go again as the team is great and its an historic beauty!
We had fish and chips today which was fresh and delicious. The staff were really welcoming and especially kind to my dog, giving her ham and biscuits! Recommend highly for lunch. The free carpark was handy too as it's difficult to park around Richmond hill.
As it started to rain we popped in for a cold beer and a glass of wine - bit surprised it cost £12.70 but the pub itself is lovely. Stuffed owl, pheasant, stag head and comfy couches - loved it. Lots of people enjoying the Sunday roast menu. Great outdoor areas too.
Had a really nice and relaxed time. The lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful and the beer was delicious. As a barkeep myself I can testify that it is kept well. I will definitely be popping back at some time to try out the carvery.
Great place for a few beers on a summer evening. They have a real fire for the winter. Their premium lager is £6.90 and old brewery bitter is £4.90. Pub food is good. For a big meal go for the big catch. There is a big car park just don't forget to register your car inside. Plenty of seating inside and out and have a fantastic roast on Sundays.
