Went in for a quick pint as staying locally for a night. Super friendly and chatty bar staff which meant we came back later for more drinks and a meal. A great local place with caring staff and great home cooked food. Small but great menu which meant the kitchen could handle all dishes and keep the quality high. Would highly recommend this over other local options. Open log fire is always a bonus in the winter.
Reserved a table for five to celebrate my elderly mother’s birthday today. The food was superb, the service was extremely warm and welcoming, and the ‘proper pub’ atmosphere was fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for better, and will certainly be back before too long. A big thank you to all the staff for a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all.
First time visit here. A warm welcome from the staff and excellent service. Good pub fayre plus specials with generous portions. A great stop on a circular walk from Whitestone car park. Dog and walking boot friendly. Might do that walk more often.
Really nice pub! Food portions are MASSIVE and you won't be hungry afterwards, and puddings are fresh tasting like Raspberries Pavlova really lovely and with fresh fruit juice Don't forget butty bach ale, local destination produce, really nice and not bitter already visited twice and would go bck anytime Thanks!
Excellent food and excellent staff, plus the views outside sat down looking across the river are very relaxing.
