We stopped here for a swift pint on the SWCP. We were hoping to get lunch, but it's out of season and they weren't doing food. Nice and perfect position overlooking the sea.
Fantastic little place just a short walk from Mevagissey in Portmellon. The lady behind the bar was so friendly and great to chat with. Tintagel ale is amazing!! Sat outside in the gorgeous sunshine and a great conversation with a brilliant couple from Wales.
I visited a few weeks ago to do the Monday night puquiz. Parked in the carpark against the sign that said "Parking for Rising Sun". Gave £20 to their charity and even bought the landlady a drink, only to receive a £100 Parking fine (for 2 hours!). When I rang the landlady she was unhelpful, obstructive and rude and refused to send me email confirmation that I was a guest in her pub, which I could then have used against the Parking charge. Beware other punters, of both misleading signage and discourteous and mean spirited landlady.
Lovely pub, right on the harbour, so great view. Good range of drinks and friendly, helpful staff. Saw a brilliant local band, 'The Viewers', there last evening. We had a smashing time, loved it.
Wonderful atmospheric old fashioned pub with great cider. Fortnightly entertainment in a gorgeous setting by sea.Landlady has been there a long time and remembers her annual holiday customers which is warming.
