We celebrate our anniversary every year at Raleghs Cross as it was the location of our first date so I'm viewing the place with marginally rose tinted glasses. However we come every year because we love the place. We stay in room 107 which is always clean and in good order, it's one of the refurbished rooms and is spot on. The food we had was excellent, I had a great steak and chips, and a beautiful fry up in the morning. The location is amazing on a nice day, but because we often come up here in winter it can be cold misty and murky, but that just adds to the appeal when there's a nice warm fire roaring away inside to welcome you in. We love it here and will be back again next year for sure.
Come for a late roast dinner with my wife and 4 children, this isn’t our first visit so time for a review. Carvery is on till 8:30pm which is more than accommodating to all. Carvery is well stocked and prepared, delicious to say the least and the thatchers haze is on point. All staff were fab! Lady at the bar in particular (had funky hair) was a gem, chatty and welcoming and even told me to keep her lighter as I found I come without one. Heading home full and and happy. Warm pleasant pub with good grub! ❤️ You cannot go wrong. Many thanks
We went 12.30 on a Sunday for a carvery. The staff were all friendly and helpful and there is plenty of seating inside and outside. The meal was excellent quality very enjoyable and good value for money, we will definitely go again.
We stayed on the campsite, Pitches were on a slope and even our highest block couldn't get us level. But level enough to sleep, very windy when we stayed. Shower/toilet block wasn't the cleanest and very cold in there. Just a simple shack shared with men and women. Pub food was lovely we had an evening meal and breakfast, breakfast was an all you can eat buffet, but as they had a wedding on the night before, there was more people than food so they kept running out of everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We camped here recently and throughly enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed by Samuel who guided us on where to park. We were non electric hook up but there is electric hook up available. Clean toilets and showers - showers hot and plenty big enough with bench seat inside for towels clothes etc. washing up area with hot water and chemical disposal point + rubbish bins. Whole area / camping field was spotless. We visited the public house adjacent to the campsite… helpful staff - good range of food and drink - moderate prices - quick service and very good quality food - highly recommend the carvery!… the public house was clean throughout as was the toilets…outside seating area and dog friendly except at the carvery area which of course is understandable… lots of parking spaces available and disabled parking spaces available too. Full disability access throughout and disabled toilet. Highly recommend for the pub or camping (especially the camping!!) we fully intend to return.! Be aware you are close to a busy road - lots of walking / footpaths in the area but if you have children be aware of the road…childrens play area attached to public house…camping is adults only which we really appreciated
