Timour opened his first bar in Ashington over 40 years ago. He aimed to create a friendly location for the all the locals to enjoy. Timour is well known for his witty sense of humour and generous care for all his customers. Timour took over The Castle in 1999, a family run business that has been running successfully till the present day. He loves the location of The Castle and the fantastic loyal customers it attracts. Timour refurbished the first floor into brand new accommodation and spent time uplifting the ground floor into a modern space for all his customers to enjoy.
Beer is a bit warm.
Came to attend a funeral and looking for a central place to stay. Website quoted £30 for a single room (still does 10/23) but said £40 when I phoned. Paid that no problem for 1 person in twin room. Room was quite spacious and refurbished. Not as clean as it might be but OK. Bathroom modern. Didn't have a drink down in the bar but staff friendly enough and there was a log burning stove. Fine as a drinking man's bar. Free parking was bonus. Would stay again.
Came up for the northern soul wknd. Friendly people good selection of drinks room was fine no problems . I'll ho back for defo .
we had little hairs that looked like pubic hair on our sheets in the double bed room with dry snot under the pillow, the sheets also had marks all over them , the room with two beds also had hairs on the pillows, drinks are to expensive, milk for the tea was sour , and marks all over the mirror
I was working in the area so needed somewhere close. This was honestly the best place I’ve stayed in 2 years of working away twice a week. A proper northern pub with a very comfortable room. The staff were friendly and accommodating. What looked like locals of the pub were friendly and said hello/ goodbye . Will definitely be booking again the next time I’m in the area. Fantastic
