Nestled below Blackstone Edge, The Moorcock Inn is an authentic and welcoming place to eat, drink and stay. Featuring home cooked classics, accompanied by a selection of inviting house wines and micro brewed ales from Eagle Crag Breweries.
Quick and easy. Food was good and the service was great. Not very busy, and got a table no problem, we did book but there was no need. Big car park and dead easy to get to.
Stayed before for a weekend but this time we travelled again just to try the food. We were lucky enough to get the specials which were scallops and sea bass dish. Guys I’m telling you those were the best. We also returned for lunch the next day and we were not disappointed. You must try the food. The chef is clearly doing a ln amazing job. Just a point of note: the front of house staff would so with a bit of training . Thank you for lovely food. We will be back
The best food and views. Beautiful place, friendly, great atmosphere. Very nice staff and the best food in the area. The live music was very good , the selection of beers on tap was great but what I will remember the most is the beautiful meal we had. I had steak and my husband had one of the specials. They were both lovely. Found out there is a new chef who took over the kitchen and he’s clearly doing a great job. I’ve been before around July time and food was good too though not as good as recently. I would recommend this place as a gate away or simply just a meal out of you are looking for delicious meal.
Excellent food a modern British classics. We ordered a couple of specials and they were amazing. Spoke to Chef Dan who was lovely and very passionate about the food and what’s to come. We will be back to try more of the delish food. The front of house staff needs training though they tried their best.
My wife and I chose this location as a halfway meeting point to pick up a car I had seen online. The manager and his team were very polite and courteous, We really enjoyed our Sunday roasts with a side of cauliflower cheese and stuffing balls. Unfortunately we were to full to sample the desserts. Would highly recommend and will be staying there next summer. Thanks again
