We have come here in the past and had joyous experiences but had one of the worst dining experiences this evening. Was my sisters 18th birthday celebration which was booked prior. When arriving, they didn’t even locate our reservation on the system and the server(Nessa) rudely told us to wait whilst she laid a table. Throughout the night we received appalling customer service from her including her disgusting attitude, many other tables were also complaining about her. Our plates weren’t cleared, drinks took half an hour & food took even longer! We were there for a 2.5 hours in total and didn’t even have time for desserts! However, Rachel was outstanding! Was constantly apologising for the delay and was always incredibly attentive throughout the service even though she was running the show for most of the evening. We were told there was only 3 members of staff working the whole Evening due to sickness, however, I feel this is no excuse for the service we received. I will definitely not be returning and this has ruined an important birthday celebration.
Stay here on our regular shopping trips to Bicester. The staff are always so welcoming. Special shout out to the lovely ladies who looked after us, Nicole and Janine. Also Mario the chef who came to visit our table and made sure we ordered the best steak. Fantastic from start to finish. Highly recommend the fillet steak with truffle butter.
Everything was great - the food, the atmosphere and especially the staff. Rachel went above and beyond and out of her way to go the extra mile - she (and the other lady there during the day on 17th Jan) were engaging and super helpful. Thank you for putting up with us all day and evening, you made a whole day meetings much more fun. See you again soon.
Great atmosphere… great food.. and amazing service! I’m in the customer experience industry and have to say The Lion is a fabulous experience… we were looked after by Rachel all morning and through lunch, who almost became part of the team I was with! 😁 Same goes for the evening team - they even remembered my preferred dessert from the previous visit(s)! Huge thanks to the team at The Lion for an amazing day.. and we actually got a lot of work done! 😁
we arrived to have lunch. We had no booking but hungry, especially my children who were so excited that they gonna have lunch in such a nice place but disappointingly they didn't give us a table while lots of tables were empty at 1pm on a Saturday! and we had to leave while children were crying and staff didn't care at all.
