The Best Western Le Strange Arms Hotel sits quietly in the North Norfolk village of Old Hunstanton and enjoys an unrivalled seashore setting, with lawns sweeping down to the dunes and sandy beach.
The hotels location allows easy access to some of the great houses dotted around the area, and puts the North Norfolk coast within touching distance. Although the hotel is on the East coast of England, it faces west across the Wash, which is famous for its sunsets and wildlife!
In addition to the hotels individually styled bedrooms, you have the opportunity to keep yourself to yourself in one of the 2 self catering apartments that our Boat House offers.

Fantastic location with easy access to the beach. Hotel is a little bit old fashioned but spotlessly clean and tidy. Food in the restaurant was very good, generous portions and piping hot. Only slight niggle in the restaurant was Elvis on repeat. Breakfast also plentiful and good quality. We would definitely consider returning.
The location looks really good. I called the hotel to check they are dog friendly, before I booked. I was told that, unfortunately, they are not dog friendly in the hotel but I was told the boathouse is dog friendly. However, trying to use the website on a mobile phone was very poor as the website did not optimise. This made trying to book via the website impossible. I haven't booked a room yet... so the stars are based on assumptions at this stage.
Stayed here for 1 night and booked the room/dinner/breakfast package. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable and perfectly matched the description/pictures. Quality of service in the resturant at dinner was almost non existant. Communication clearly lacking with front house team on menu availablity (dinner), quality of food barely average (dinner), portion sizes disproportionate (dinner). Front house team lacking basics of hospitality (ie moving furniture and clearing/re-setting tables seemed to be a prioirty over attending the customers). Background music was switched off at 9.20pm leaving almost complete silence - felt rushed to finish and leave. Quality and choice of breakfast items was very good but again front house team lacking some of the basics of hospitality/customer service. Would defo stay again for room, breakfast and location.
We had afternoon tea as a birthday treat at Le Strange yesterday We had a sea view as requested in the conservatory The food was lovely and the tea too……. However no member of staff came to ask if everything was ok, which is customary in the hospitality sector… After an hour I went to ask for more tea I had to ask at reception as I couldn’t find any other staff… After about 20 minutes nobody appeared and I then found a member of staff in the bar. Tea arrived promptly. The other table in the conservatory had been used prior to us getting there… This had dirty plates etc…. When the gentleman brought out our drinks and then our food he didn’t attempt to take any of these items out and likewise when the young lady brought out the tea she didn’t take nothing either…..pretty poor I think you would agree
Clean and well appointed room with a good sea view. Mariner Inn is really cosy in the old part and we'll worth a visit. Scones in the cream tea were some of the best we've had. Staff were really helpful. Perfect location for local exploring. Only criticism is that the restaurant could do with a makeover as it is a little "old hat" (maybe remove some of the render and expose some of the beautiful stone walls etc).
