Good hotel . Needing a bit of tlc on the outside soffits. Carpets a bit tired looking but food and ambience good. Great views from the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everything was well organised and the food, especially the dinner, was delicious. Also it was reasonably priced. View from the hotel was amazing. When we wanted to leave our car wouldn't start due to a flat battery. We got very quick help from the hotel an they jumped our car within a few minutes
genuinely Highland hotel, local very friendly staff, fantastic location with amazing views. Contrary to some feedback we had a really good meal, and all at very sensible prices. The views from every window can only be described as stunning. Yes, a bit of TLC and an odd splash of new paint may not go amiss, and the frontage on arrival does it no favours either, but once you're beyond that it becomes very quaint and typically rural. If you want genuine Highland reality you'll love it, but if you prefer 5 star city comfort its maybe not for you. I personally appreciate both, but would definitely visit here again.
Nicely located hotel with friendly staff. You can hike to Sandwood Bay/Beach. The place needs some serious renovations though as the rooms are very dated and poorly insulated. We were fortunate enough to have very sunny weather during our stay and the room heated up to very unpleasant temperatures. As it was facing west. It was very difficult to have a comfortable sleeping climate as opening the window would mean noise pollution and cigarette smoke from the bar below. The breakfast has a nice choice of items but unfortunately our milk jug hadn’t been cleaned properly and I had hair on my bacon as it arrived. The staff is very friendly though. The “Old School Restaurant” down the road offers top notch fish and chips and has the most lovely staff working there.
Lovely welcome from the woman at reception, but she seemed to be doing three or four jobs in one. The views were beautiful and the room was nice, but hotel is in dire need of an update; felt a little like we were in a care home at breakfast.
