If your idea of a perfect location is off the beaten track where sheep and deer roam freely on the road, and there is virtually not much else nearby, then this is perfect for you. Luckily, the couple who own the hotel offer an in-house dinner menu, as there isn't a place within many miles to get a meal. There are several choices on the menu, and the meal was delicious and very reasonably priced. I chose the Brie & Beetrrot Tart with Kale pastry, fries, and roasted vegetables that included cherry tomatoes and broccoli. They also have a full bar that they run for patrons as well, so one can enjoy an evening cocktail, beer and/or wine. The hotel was super clean. We stayed in Room #2 on the ground floor. It was small and had 2 twin beds. The view out the back was of an unattended garden with pots strewn about, so there really wasn't much to feast one's eyes on. We could open the window for some fresh air, but not too far. Despite being quite small, there was a hostess tray with a tea kettle and all of the amenities as well as packaged cookies. The electric shower was small, but did the job. One must remember to turn on the switch which is located outside of the bathroom. The bathroom was definitely outdated, but certainly quite functional. Included with the room was a hair dryer, all-in-one body/shampoo and hand soap. The mattresses on the bed were extremely soft, and we both laughed when we sat down on them, because we kind of fell into them. But despite that, I did not have difficulty sleeping, and I'm used to a rather hard mattress. Wi-fi was very strong with a password. Breakfast was included in the room rate and there were several choices. I chose yogurt with fruit, avocado toast with cherry tomatoes, feta and poached eggs. Presented beautifully and quite tasty. The hotel is run by one couple who do all of the work: checking in, cooking and serving of the meals. As a result, the guest is asked to pick a time for dinner as well as breakfast, so that they can run things smoothly. We did enjoy our stay. It was quite different than our usual Scottish experience, but definitely entertaining.

Stayed here on our NC500. B road out to Drumbeg is harrowing at best, but worth the drive. It is amazing that this hotel is run by 2 people. Rooms are small but clean with comfortable beds. Very rainy on our night there so we didn't get to explore. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Nice choice of food, excellently prepared and served.

What an incredible gem of a place!!! I mean total gem. Location: Ok so you are in Scotland and everything is stunning, the road leading in and out of Drumbeg is like something from a movie( I mean a one lane scary oncoming traffic kinda road, but still breathtaking). It’s super easy access to Old Man of Stoer, several beaches and tons of hikes. The Hotel: Uber story book vibes happening at this hotel! The rooms were super cute and so comfy. Great tea and coffee selection in the room as a bonus. The FOOD: The breakfast are delicious and I am not even a breakfast person. But the star is by far dinner. Oh man, I am going to go out on a limb here and say that it’s the best food I have had so far on my Scotland adventure. The soups were warm and comforting, the mains were seasoned to perfection and the meats just fell off the bone. My husband, who hates carrots, special ordered them on the 2nd night because they were that good. I just can’t even with the food. It’s made to order, fresh and just absolutely amazing. Richard and Fiona: the owners are so so so kind. Easy to talk to and they have great local recommendations. 100% come here!!! It will totally add to your Scotland holiday.

Lovely hotel. Rooms small but wonderfully decorated with landscape wallpapers, clean, soft comfy beds. Bar and two lovely lounges and pool table, large breakfast and dinner room with views over a loch. Friendly hosts. Food was delicious, great selection for breakfast.
