Gill & Martin - thanks for ensuring a friendly, welcoming atmosphere & service with an impressive range of beers and other beverages on offer. The quiz nights in particular are a big success. Cheers, Steve
Excellent little local pub, about 25 mins walk from Chorleywod. Good selection of ales on, so we'll worth the trip. Ideal on a dry day for walking the hills an lane's around.
Good condition of 5 or 6 cask beers available but the landlord seems not welcoming strangers. I did not feel comfortable staying for long. This is a pub where you only go with someone who knows the local pub.
Its taken a long time but Covid saw to that. Finally visited after being tempted by landlord when stopping outside in mid-2020 after first lockdown was eased. Very much worth the ride out there as this pub has a lovely garden, great beers and cider as well as a lively atmosphere. Will have to return to sample food, which I believe is traditional snacks not the usual and often bland gastropub fare.
This is one of my partner’s local pubs, and having now visited every other pub in the area many times, we’ve both decided that this one is our favourite. At a glance it looks like a bit of an old man pub, but it’s actually quite a quirky little spot with colourful clientele. There’s a reasonably broad, rotating selection of ales and ciders on offer as well as a good selection of gins and other spirits, and we always find something for our tastes. My partner says the sausage rolls are transcendental. The pub has a lot more character than others nearby and we’ve always found the staff friendly and welcoming. There’s also a really friendly pub dog called Purdy!
