Traditional in all respects, the Black Horse staff pride themselves on ensuring a delightful and relaxing atmosphere with a real community feel. With period beams, a real log fire that we light at the every opportunity, an open plan bar and separate dining area, this is a country pub that has retained the essence of what makes the rural English pub experience so special. Comfy seating and a warm cosy atmosphere ensure that a pleasant experience is to be had by all, coupled with friendly and professional staff all ready to wish you and warm welcome.

Given our very privileged location we are a very popular location for visiting ramblers, cyclists and dog walkers all enjoying the two hundred and fifty acre common which we are surrounded by.The outside fronts directly onto the common giving us a huge natural garden, whilst a beer garden with large marquee and well equipped outside bar ensures full use of our venue and its facilities.

Homemade, freshly prepared and deliciously traditional food is served everyday to our excellent regular trade built up throughout the years. Our daily changing specials menu ensures a wide variety of choices with smaller portions available for those with a smaller appetite.

Our increasingly popular Sunday evening acoustic nights is becoming the talk of the town! With regular performers bringing in their followers and all new performers encouraged to come down and have a go.
