About us

This former shop is situated on a street corner opposite Holy Trinity Church and incorporates a spectacular curved window. The outdoor seating area overlooks Trinity Square and church. Part of the features listed include a fine example of a Victorian bar back and six ornamental prow heads situated around the building. There is a small room tucked away to the rear of the bar.

Welcoming pub if you know a regular otherwise you’ll be looked upon like a lepper by the regulars who frequent the pubs in old town. Prices seem to change from the day during the night (£3.50 for a Carlsberg, £2.50 on an evening, unless the evening staff do it cheaper for regulars). Drug dealing and usage is obvious with regulars frequenting toilets and packages/baggies left in the toilets. Also children aren’t allowed in the pub unless hidden away, unless it’s one of the bar staffs many kids since it’s a different rule for them and the entitled bar staff (self centred lady with black hair) looked rudely upon us until we left even though we only stayed for one drink to see a friend. Ella and Victoria have been lovely staff and are wasted at this establishment.

Briefly read the reviews and had to try it out for ourselfs... clearly not up to our expectations, nothing homely or welcoming about our visit, the place was quiet and we were made to feel like outsiders from another country the landlady constantly giving us evils, quite expensive and bits of black guff on wine glass. Very uncomfortable will not be back

This charming pub captures the essence of warm hospitality, extending a friendly welcome to both patrons and staff alike. Indulging in a refreshing pint of their Tetley's, I found myself immersed in an atmosphere that exuded a timeless appeal. Highly recommend visiting for a memorable and delightful experience.

The Kingston hotel is a beautiful unspoiled proper traditional pub. Firstly the beer, there is an excellent choice of cask conditioned real ale. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The interior is unspoiled with a nice bar and a nice separate snug, with a traditional serving Hatch between the two rooms. I've had some great nights here with live music, and darts competitions. Highly recommended.
