I came today for drinks and food, I live locally and have not been for a while. Staff friendly and welcoming and food is amazing !! Home cooked chips !! Highly recommend, great atmosphere and do nhs discount so bonus
Went for drinks with colleagues. Great selection of drinks for good prices and a lovely atmosphere in the middle of wilmslow. The staff brought round complimentary small portions of fish and chips as well.
Beer selection and location decent, lady behind the bar was miserable as sin, which was a shame considering we were two of the 10-15 people in the pub at 10pm on a Friday. Wanted to stay for two. Will stay for one and move on.
Do not book here. I made the mistake of not reading the 1* reviews and had the misfortune of staying here. I won't make myself relive the whole experience but in summary - rude staff, never been talked to like I have by a number of their team - dirty rooms - broken blinds - light fixtures hanging off the ceiling - lights and extractor fan in bathroom don't work - full bins in our room - noise beyond belief (not helped by windows that don't close) - tried to charge an extra £50 out of nowhere just to see if they could - I only paid and didn't complain as we had a family gathering there after a wedding and I didn't want to cause a fuss infront of everyone - side note my uncles card was cloned whilst there too so would recommend freezing your card following a visit!
Fab small pub and hotel. Great location - only 5 minutes from Wilmslow railway station and, as an aside, the taxi service in the area is great. We were made really, really welcome and had a great evening in the pub after our day out. The room has comfy, quiet (there's a reasonably busy road outside but on the Saturday night and Sunday morning we were there it was no problem) and clean. All in all, a great place to stay and good value. Highly recommend the King William!
