About us

Dating from the 16th century, The Greatworth Inn is a traditional country pub, located in the heart of the small village of Greatworth, as a Freehouse the owners John and Margaret take pride in the quality and variety of their ales and are included in the 2022 CAMRA Good Beer Guide, being one of the chosen 4,500 outlets out of 50,000 pubs in Britain. The Greatworth Inn is the perfect place for dining, meeting friends, family get together's or for just popping in for a quiet pint. May 2018 saw the opening of a very popular beer garden incorporating a custom built Aunt Sally Throw and in March 2021 the opening of the Rainbow Room, our magnificent Dining/Function Room. The Greatworth Inn prides itself in being the hub of the local community and plays host to the village's Annual Soap Box Derby, this year to be held early June, whilst organising its own Annual Beer & Music Festival, this year's event to be held on Saturday August 20th, an event not to be missed.

John and Margaret put their success down to the valuable contribution their family make into the business.

The Kitchen was opened four years ago and in that time has established a solid reputation for great quality, well presented, good honest pub grub, so good that many diners have commented the food is 'to a restaurant standard' and 'we'll be back'. Where possible the Kitchen aims to use local suppliers for its Kitchen produce.

This is a really nice, friendly local pub. I love real ale and the always have 3-4 options that are always well kept and change regularly. I have also had an amazing burger here, but there are limited hours for the kitchen so call ahead if you want to eat to make sure it's open.

Lovely, friendly & full of atmosphere village pub with smashing food. Had the home-cooked lasagne tonight & it was 100% better than a Italian restaurant one 😋 I hope more is made. Hubby had the fajita's which he really enjoyed. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We visited before and after a shoot in December. Very welcoming indeed. The breakfast set us up for the day and tea filled us up for the night! Great local pub and cracking prices.... never paid such a small amount for a G&T in a pub!! Hopefully we'll be back next season.
