Located only a stone's throw from the scenic North Norfolk coast, The Gin Trap is found in the heart of Ringstead, a charming village surrounded by the natural beauty of the English countryside. The pub itself has a characterful history welcoming all guests since 1668, be they locals, visitors, families with children and dogs.
The Gin Trap Inn was a great experience, which gets my highest recommendation. It had a great atmosphere, with welcoming staff and superb food, which we happily enjoyed during our time there. Myself and my wife both had a starter and main, which also included complimentary tasters (bread and cultured butter, and smoked codroe canope). All of which was very tasty and left me wanting much, much more. Though there were plenty of tables, it was very relaxed and easy to have a conversation during the entire meal. In terms of drinks, as you can expect with the name, you have many options available either to have during your meal or at the bar. My only problem was the parking - we arrived at a peak lunchtime hour and while there is parking in front, it was busy and we only just got a parking spot. Overall, it is highly recommended, and I will definitely consider going back again.
Fabulous one night birthday stay as present from daughters. So surprised to see room decorated with balloons, bunting and birthday card. Complementary g&t too. Lovely place, lovely food, lovely staff - couldn't fault it. Highly recommended. Steve and Marian
What a great place to eat. Absolutely fabulous food in a great old building. I had French Onion soup, which was lovely, especially with its delicious cheese bread roll. This was followed by the Chicken, leek and ham pie. This was served on a bed of creamy, buttery mash with a really deep tasting gravy. Wonderful. Superb service to boot so can’t complain one bit.
My friend and I have just had a Sunday lunch and food was absolutely fantastic and delicious and cannot fault anything, the service was great and staff were all lovely and friendly and very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere and we both said we will be returning. Thank you everyone at the Gin Trap xx
Everything was just utterly delightful! Food was incredible and the staff were brilliant. Don’t skip over this place, make the drive and you will not regret it! The cheese soufflé is to die for. The halibut was cooked perfectly and the rice pudding couldn’t possibly have ever been related to the hideous gelatinous stuff served at school; perfectly spiced and beyond creamy. Please sir, can I have some more?!
