Came here for lunch. Burger fantastic, fish & chips amazing. Excellent service. Cannot fault and will definitely come back again
Didn’t stay here, just ate but, having lived in the States for a few years, I’ve had a lot of burgers in my time and the one I had here (served with sautéed potatoes) was one of the best I’ve ever had. The fish and chips is also excellent!
We arrived without a table booking and were warned that we would have a bit of a wait. It was well worth it! From outside the pub looks a bit "tired" but it's really good inside. We both had the chicken pie that other reviewers have commented on - and those potatoes OMG!!! How can they be so different from anything else we've had - and SO good. That recipe should be copywrited (you probably know what I mean!) and a licence sold!
Great food but a little pricey. £60 for 2 mains with 4 drinks is not your average eatery but there again nor is the food. The fish stew was full of fish and the chicken pie was tasty also. The village is a bit tatty but the pub is great inside.
Popped in here on my way home to get away from the beaten path a little. I was the only one in here at that time but the Landlady was a delight and the food was excellent. I had a Chicken pie and can say, emphatically and with no lie, get anything there with the roast spuds on the side, in 50 years I have had none finer.. A nice relaxed interior and a babbling brook outside.. if you are in the area.. a hearty recommendation.
