A really special pub with a unique atmosphere. Great Ale & Food at very reasonable prices. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to a return visit.
We stopped here after a relaxed sunny walk around the surrounding area. This idyllic country pub was a hark back to the days when pubs cared about their patrons. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Offered suggestions for food and local drinks. The atmosphere was just bliss. If you ever pass through the area I would strongly recommend a pit stop here to recharge. You wont be disappointed.
We first came here because the pub we were originally going to go to was shut. That was well over a year ago and we haven't been back to that pub since. The Cuckoo is without a doubt one of the best pubs I've been to. The food and drink is reasonably priced and the selection of ales and ciders is definitely worth a visit.
Stopped for tea. The pizza I had was amazing! Great real ale too.
One of my secret hide away pubs (during the week). Great beer, straight from the barrel, quirky little bar arrangement, great sitting outside. The place has never operated a full kitchen but is able to offer light bites (although Sunday they do a roast) so we had what were supposed to be Cumberland sausages in a honey sauce (turned out to be a Bratwurst cut up) some nice chips and a nice charcuterie. Given the variable nature of today's eating out we have paid more for less and what we had was tasty 👍🏼 It seems my review solicited a response thanking me for pointing out the Cumberland sausages were in fact bratwurst and that they would still be happy to serve me. Nice to know I have not been banned from a pub I have drunk at for 40 years for giving G an honest review I suppose 🤷🏼♂️
