About us
The Crown Inn has been at the cnetre of Oakengates since 1835. This three-roomed hostelry is one of only 32 pubs in the U.K. to hold CAMRA's Golden Award, Oakengates' Crown Inn has served around 20,000 different beers since being rescued from dereliction in 1995. We aim to be a friendly & convivial venue, hosting hundreds of events each year, such as:-
Quality Live Music, with performances on many Saturday evenings and Shropshire's longest-running Open Mic Night on the last Thursday of each month. Telford Acoustic Club on Wednesday evenings;
Telford Comedy Club on the second Tuesday of each month (except August), plus extra "Edinburgh Festival Preview" shows from May to July;
Quiz Nights on the last Sunday of each month;
Telford Beer Festival at the starts of May and October. Our 50th festival runs from 27th April to 8th May, featuring 24 cooled handpulls;
Telford Board Games Club on the first & third Thursday evenings of each month;
"Beer & Banter" afternoons for the Royal British Legion on the first Thursday afternoon of each month.
We aim to get people off the sofa with a wide range of great events and then to let them enjoy what we have to offer.

For Telford Drinks & Beer Festival, we open at 12 Noon daily.
Food & drink
We are proud to have served around 20,000 different real ales since 1995 but we also serve some keg-craft beers too, including Budvar Pardal from the Czech Republic and Stonehenge Shark Beach from Oswestry, alittle closer to home. We stock about 50 single-malt whiskies and small-batch gins, as well as other spirits, wines, soft-drinks and alcohol-free beers and ciders.
We offer real pork pies, pasties and Scotch eggs as well as traditional bar snacks. You are welcome to bring in your own food, as long as it's not smelly - no vinegar allowed!
