The Cherry Tree is a great London pub serving fresh, seasonal food all day, every day. Great Sunday roasts, locally brewed cask ales, a varied selection of bottled craft beers and an excellent wine list.
We’re the local hub for live music, sport and family fun, plus, for those wishing to test their IQ over a pint, there’s an ever popular regular quiz night.
All in all, a lovely old building which has been given a good spruce up for all to enjoy. Oh, and we also have the best pub garden in the area as well!.
As an East Dulwich local I've had many great times at the Cherry Tree and only ever have great things to say about it. This sentiment could only be exceeded by the care and quick thinking of their staff when my fiance was recently taken seriously ill on their premises. During this emergency Chloe acted so calmly and quickly to give first aid and help. Thank you so so much! You were incredible. We look forward to coming back soon for a far less eventful visit!
We had a lovely time here with my two children (5 and 1), and some other friends (including a 2 year old). All the staff we very attentive, friendly and helpful and made us feel at home, even if our kids made a lot of mess! The drinks and food were very good, serving some classic pub stables with skill and at speed. Will be coming again.
Yesterday we had a family Christmas reunion / Christmas lunch at the cherry tree. The Christmas lunch was absolutely amazing, big shout out to the South African chef and her brilliant team, the food was fantastic and so was the service!!!! There was a great team of people working their Christmas Day with smiles on their faces and so Incredibly polite & friendly, it made our special Christmas Day a most memorable one. Thank you to Henry and his amazing team, what a top day!!!!
Saturday late afternoon, just before the Dulwich Hamlet FC home game ends, the Cherry Tree is busy, but you'll still find a few places. A pint of Guiness and a portion of chips come at around £10, not the cheapest around here but not the most expensive either. The atmosphere is good, the sofa on which I enjoy a book and my acquisitions is comfy, staff are friendly and service is swift! What more could one want?
Shame for the review to be ruined by poor customer service. We booked an area in the 'Tree house' for the Women's WC final. I was ordering food at the bar and when the barmaid asked for my table number, I started trying to explain that I was in the back area with no table numbers. Mid-sentence another barman interrupted me and said "you're going to need a table number." I then resumed my sentence to him to explain that I was at the back corner of the gard... "We're going to need your EXACT table number to take a food order..."... So after being interrupted twice. I walk all the way back to my table to check for a number. As I thought, there wasn't one. I return back to the barman to explain to which he says "oh you're in the treehouse, they don't have table numbers."... No apology. Just a condescending barman that needs to learn to not interrupt people and at least let the customer finish their sentences... Oh and the table leg fell off.
