About us

Sitting proudly on the corner of Lordship Lane and Goose Green, East Dulwich Tavern or EDT as it’s known to the locals, is a charming pub at the heart of the East Dulwich community.

Spread across a large open bar and seating area, stunning restaurant and outdoor area, EDT is a lively local’s local perfect for every social occasion.

Boasting 10 hand pumps, we serve a rotational selection of local and regional Cask Masque certified real ales. You can enjoy a variety of mainline favourites and new and exciting guest appearances from South East breweries Brixton Brewery and Hop Stuff Brewing, plus many more. Our bar serves a selection of fine wines and spirits, and our fully stocked fridge is bursting with ever-changing crafty treats. We are delighted to have just been featured in Camra’s Good Beer Guide 2015.

Open seven days a week, our kitchen serves modern British pub fare using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. With a variety of smaller sharing plates and hearty mains on offer, you will never go hungry! We serve homemade bar snacks and seasonal pastries throughout the week and on Sundays we served traditional roasts.

Our décor is a mix of vintage designs, quirky recycled furniture, textured wallpapers and comfy seating. In winter months you can sit by one of our two fireplaces, sip mulled wine and wind away the evening.

Venture upstairs and you will find The Lodge, our rather delightful function room – complete with its very own bar. The Lodge provides the perfect backdrop for any party booking and private event, however big or small. For more information please visit our venue hire page or ask a friendly member of our team.

Throughout the week we play host to a variety of events, as well as one-off annual celebrations. We have live jazz nights, theatre events and our monthly film night The Bigger Picture gives you the chance to watch your favourite cult classic and art house films. Keep your eyes peeled on social media for a list of our upcoming event.

Pull up a bar stool and join our EDT community!.

Probably the best pub in East Dulwich. Decent selection of cask ale and draft beers/ciders. Wine selection is above average for a pub. It's quite spacious a nd they usually have sport on a big screen in the back room. Food looks ok. Gets quite busy after Dulwich Hamlet games. There is a lot of outside seating and they open up the folding walls in the summer.

Really poor service. I came in for a drink and was served by a man who didn't even bother to look at me. He poured my drink and slammed it down on the bar. I had to get some serviettes to clean the mess up he made. After sitting down with my drink he came over to some people sat opposite and just said...you didn't pay for your food. The man had paid and it was an error on the bar mans part. He didn't even apologise for his error. The bar man has zero customer service skills and was rude. People waiting to be serves and he's just wandering about calling people Bro. No idea how this man has a job there. Just to be clear the lady and other man behind the bar were really nice and friendly.

I stumbled upon the East Dulwich Tavern recently, and it's become my go-to spot in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is so inviting, especially with the option to cozy up by one of their fireplaces during winter. The pub food is a real treat – love the modern British twist and the fact that they use fresh, seasonal ingredients. Don't even get me started on their Sunday roasts; they're a game-changer. The Lodge upstairs is a hidden gem for private events, and the whole place just feels like a warm, local hangout. Highly recommend for a laid-back, enjoyable time in East Dulwich.

Such pleasant bar staff. Really enjoyed "an oul pint" of ale here with a couple of pals on a Saturday afternoon having taken in the local charity shops. The food looked great 😃. Pets allowed. Eclectic mix of decor and really a nice atmosphere.

Average Sunday roast. The pink part of the beef was good, but also, there were no edibles/chewable cuts. Yorkshire pudding was the biggest disappointment. How could you overcook it so badly and serve it? Good beer selection. The tables could’ve been cleaned more regularly.
