A great relaxing pub, well worth a visit
This is an old style public house. It is services the usual drinks both bottles and draft beers as well as wine. It has a brilliant duke box and plenty of seating. The pub is very friendly and welcoming and the beers are kept very well. If you want a great drink in a decent pub this is it.
We had lovely afternoon - homely pub good beer good atmosphere, just nice
Traditional old fashioned pub. Hard to find these days. Good atmosphere.
Warm beer, no food, boiling hot pub and dour bar staff combined to make our visit disappointing. We went for the quiz which was really for intelligent Carlisle folk who had knowledge of local restaurants/football and not the fun quiz we expected.

The Kings Head is on Fisher Street, which is behind the Town Hall and next to the Guildhall. This part of the city dates back to Medieval times, and ale is reputed to have been available on the site of The Kings Head as early as the 10th century!
