We have a well-stocked bar offering some of Cumbria's and Yorkshire's finest real ales, a wide choice of wines, a great selection of spirits, liqueurs and a range of soft drinks.
We are situated in the rural village of Nateby, only 1 mile from Kirby Stephen. This makes it a superb base for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits and an ideal location for a stop over on the Wainwright Coast to Coast and Pennine Journey walk, both of which pass in close proximity to our pub.
Large party of us met up for Sunday lunch, pre booked our meals (26 of us) Great atmosphere, courses came out together and good food, friendly and helpful staff.
Went here last night for a 2 course meal. The meal was very disappointing, my Yorkshire pudding was burnt and not very nice at all, the turkey was very dry, I didn't receive any veg and not all the cutlery was on the table. The young staff where very helpful but I didn't appreciate seeing the older member of staff coughing everywhere
Lovely pub in a peaceful location. Looks very popular for food although check winter opening and serving times, it is usually closed for a couple of hours on weekday afternoons. Very helpful staff, interesting building. Old style furnishings which have seen better days although that just adds to the charm. Lovely big fireplace which is roaring on cold days. Definitely recommended.
The staff went above and beyond, and managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday evening. The food was delicious, good portion sizes and very reasonably priced. The only let down is the car parking available but
Booked for Sunday lunch after walking all day and can't say how great that decision was. Service and the Sunday lunches were superb. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu. This time we had pate starters a lamb and a turkey dinner with crumble desert. Highly recommend you try them all for yourself
