About us

At the Coach & Horses we serve a seasonal menu bursting with freshly prepared dishes. Only using locally sourced fresh ingredients, complemented with award winning wines, real ales and all at affordable prices.

Our focus has always been about giving the local community and neighbourhood exactly what they want in our local pub, dating back beyond 1722 and originally belonging to Salters brewery our site is rich in history and stories.

At the Coach & Horses we have a great selection of real ales, continental lagers, fantastic value wines from around the world and quality spirits.

Our wine list has something for everyone with over 25 wines available by the glass and nothing over £19 a bottle.

Of course it’s not all about alcohol, we also have plenty of non-alcoholic products: juices, non-alcoholic beers, coffees and teas are always available.

Our passion for fresh food means that wherever possible we source local suppliers to bring you a seasonal menu bursting with traditional pub favourites and more contemporary dishes. Juicy steaks, spit roasted chicken, freshly prepared pizzas, the best fish and chips in town and a great selection for vegetarians, all prepared with care and attention to detail.

We also have the facilities to put on a full hog roast for your party or function!

Our prices reflect our belief that good food doesn’t need to cost the earth.

Very lovely pub. We sat by the fire and one of the locals kept putting logs on the fire. It was uncomfortably hot as we were the only ones sitting by the fire. Came for Christmas dinner menu to celebrate my mums birthday. Service was very slow but friendly. Food was great when it came. One of our party didn’t get his starter. Not sure we would come again at Christmas

Lovely old pub with great quirky decor inside. A lovely beer garden out the back and AMAZING nachos!! The roast dinners are fab too but roast potatoes aren’t the best. We made a complaint and the manager was so so helpful and didn’t charge us for one of our meals. Everything else was brilliant and we will definitely return again to sit out in the lovely garden in the sun ☀️

Great atmosphere with authentic low level beams in pub section. We had escalope and bpulled beef burger, both outstanding as a taste and presentation at a reasonable price of its quality. They also have beer garden next to restaurant. 2for1 cocktail deals available. Superb service by waitress, very kind and attentive.

very nice food. All are good taste. nice presentation of food. the shop environment is well decorated and good temperature, clean and happy mood. We reserved table and give us a quite comfy and private area. Staffs comes in often to check with your needs. Price reasonably. kids meals are good, mix and match to your preference. If you would try the single scoop adult ice cream £1.5, please order before 9pm. good for friends gathering and nice food.
