A traditional edge of town centre pub, initially 'The Thorn' but following the coming of the railway to Ossett in 1874, the name was changed to 'The Great Northern Hotel' and in 1961 to The Thorn Tree Inn.

Had a great night for mums 80th birthday party . Everyone had a great time. Lovely friendly pub, lovely food, great staff so helpful and friendly. Good selection of drinks and lovely cocktails.
We visted thorn tree last thursday and it did not disappoint. We thought the atmosphere was so lovely and everyone is very welcoming. Having had a delicious afternoon tea here in the summer we decided to return for the winter menu. This time we ordered a curry and it was so delicious. The food was so so good and home made -we really enjoyed every bite. The prices are amazing too. Well worth it. I loved the fact that all the staff were genuinely smiley and helpful and could not do enough for us. It is also very clean. We also loved that it is dog friendly in one of the sections too. We also loved the fact that there is an offer on the food every night and the manager kat has put so much effort and detail into everything. Its great. We look forward to coming back to some of the events and will be at the quiz one night too. What a lovely gem in Osset. We can't wait to return. Parking is also easy round the back and lovely views. Our first time in the Thorn Tree for Years. Pleased to say it was a lovely visit. Excellent pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord served by very friendly staff. Nicely laid out with modern decor and good community feel. Deserves to do well. We will be back!
