Lovely dog friendly local run village pub, we we're staying in Wetton with friends and had booked a table for lunch, were a group of 12 and I'd definitely recommend booking to be sure you get a table, pub is cosy, relaxed and friendly. Food is decent and the beer good. Definitely recommend stopping by after a walk to enjoy the Royal Oak hospitality.
Gorgeous pub, in a delightful village. Really lovely staff, and the food was tasty and filling on a cold winters day. The ales weren’t bad either!
Called in after a muddy 12k walk around Wetton. We received a lovely warm welcome from the owners. The pub had a roaring fire that was like a hug as we entered. We had a drink and a warm. Unfortunately we couldn't have a meal as we were too early for the kitchen. Would definitely go again and highly recommend to others.
I’ve never visited this pub, and I took my wife, my brother and his partner for a lunch time meal. The service and the food was excellent and there was plenty of space to park (they will only let patrons park which is a great idea). We then went to Milldale and did a 4 Mike walk taking in Hall Dale and Dove Dale.
After a walk to Thors Cave, we stopped in at this local pub for some food. When we first got in, there was an overpowering smell of bleach (it got worst in the bathroom) which was extremely off-putting. The food was alright but wished for something more. Staff were friendly and warm so not a total wash
