This place is like a well kept secret and you wouldn’t know about it unless someone tells you. Butcher owned and meals cooked by his wife, the food is some of the best pub food in the area and beyond! I highly recommend booking a table and making the trip out to Bromfield. Delicious food and the friendliest service from the Harrison family.
Well we were in for a surprise. After a couple of days moving house we were tired and hungry so we decided to try this country pub. Not a bit of it walking through the door we could see this was not what we expected from a small country pub. The decor was excellent as were the staff which were very welcoming. The food was just what we needed and plenty of it. Prices vary reasonable. The only draw back was one us is vegan and although the staff bent over backwards to try and help she ended up with garlic bread and mash. As to the rest of us we could not be happier. Will we be returning you bet.

The owners took the time to talk to us about where we were from and seemed genuinely interested in our weekend away etc. The lamb shank was just perfection.
What a gem!!! Tucked away in the corner, in the middle of nowhere, but possibly the best food weve eaten in the Lakes (or anywhere else in the UK for that matter) Food was absolutely amazing, and very reasonably priced and generous portions. Staff were all super friendly and the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere and the decor is wonderfully eclectic but sophisticated too. We really enjoyed our visit here and would definitely return next time were in the Lakes.
Absolutely fabulous. Exquisite food. Great atmosphere and surroundings. Will definitely be back. Liz is an excellent chef and Tony the perfect host. Do not change a single thing. Already looking forward to our next visit. 5 stars is not enough.
