The inn was formerly known as The Roebuck up until 1960 when it became the Wolseley Arms. Originally, the inn was used as a regular changing place for coaches on long journeys before railways were introduced, and at one time over a hundred horses were kept at the Wolseley Arms for this purpose.

As always, great food and really friendly staff who are always welcoming. We were served by Karen who was friendly, very welcoming and made us feel at home. Food was excellent, although we never have a bad meal here. Look forward to our next visit
Smashing pub. We visited nearby Shugborough and fancied a quick drink that turned into a few hours of sitting comfortably in this dog friendly pub (great fire), enjoying the Guiness and Christmas menu. The staff were lovely and will return if visiting the area again.
Lovely meal everyone enjoyed everything, service was outstanding everything was spot on and came out all together for a table of 19 (well done chefs) Nat was amazing from the point of booking all the way through. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back
We ate here after going to Shugborough Estate. We didn't have a booking but we were able to eat as a table of 6. The food selection was very good and they had a varied range of ales and wines. Dogs are welcomed with their own beer barrel full of water at the entrance. There is outside seating with blankets available if the weather drops cooler. Plenty of parking make this easy pub to pop in to and refresh.
Visited here for lunch whilst on a walk along the canal and into Cannock Chase. It's right by a busy roundabout and main roads which meant sitting outside was noisy so we went inside where they have lots of tables. Good selection of beers and cider etc and lots to choose from on the menu including gluten free options. It was busy on the April weekday lunchtime we went so we had to wait a while for our meals to arrive but it was worth it as they were excellent.
