The building is on land previously known to house The Boughton Cold Store, as it was a supply depot during the Second World War. The Boughton Cold Store was built to store perishable goods like butter, cheese and margarine. These stores were built close to the railway line, to make the loading and unloading of supplies easy for the Ministry of Food.

Great pub lovely date night meal. Only disappointment was the biscuits which was not shortbread with my creme brulee. We still enjoyed Thank you Daisy
Food was amazing! Large portions, beautifully cooked. Table of 5 all having the Sunday roasts and dessert - everyone happy and empty plates. Faith was lovely and looked after our table very well. Catered very easily to the one of us that had dietary issues A lovely lunch - as always (have been back multiple times across the years). Highly recommended!
The most amazing experience! Cat and the team are amazing! Lily, Meg, and Daisy were the most attentive, caring and overall did an awesome job of taking care of us. The windhover is definitely the place to be and will forever be my favourite restaurant 🙌 The duo of lamb was beautiful!
Have nothing to complain about. Food was delicious, place was clean and staff friendly. Definitely one to add to the list of repeat visits! We sat in garden with 2 dogs, we booked and paid for everything from a QR code on the table. Service was quick and friendly.
Haven't been to The Windhover in over 10 years. The last time I was there the food was excellent and this time didn't disappoint either. The food, service was all on par. Great value for your money will definitely be back very soon.
