Far too long queuing at the bar to order. The bar had no Tia Maria, nor any brandy at all. When I asked for beer mats, was told by the bar person, they were on table, but they weren't, which was why I was requesting them! The food was good, as was the table service.
Ordered sharers and a childs meal. Sharers came in small dog bowl looking metal bowls ! No cutlery or plates and tiny portions. Asked why so little food and was told the rest is coming out later ! Sharers split into two times. Wasn’t even busy ! Chef sent us 4 onion rings as an apology 😂. Shocking experience never again. Value for money also poor.
Had xmas day lunch 2023. Bit disappointed. Price was £58.99 per person. My starter was horrible left it, main ok but had to be wsrmed up as it was cold. Dessert was (suposed to be xmas pudding and custard) Not quite sure what kind of xmas pudding resembled a chelsea bun, with brandy sauce. As a non drinker, i left this dish too. Waste of my hard earned NHS wages. 🤨
We booked for Xmas day . The experience from start to finish was stressful .. something what should been so easy , became hard work . We had given you our food orders 3 times . I visited the restaurant 3 times including Xmas day , sort out our stuff .. I was sent no end of emails and was phoned by a rude lady to say I hadn’t paid my bill or give in food choices . At this point it had already all been sorted . To then I had give her my meal choices again which she really couldn’t be bothered to do as was calling myself to another member of staff while i was in the phone listening to everything .. I came into the restaurant to complain but nothing was obviously done about it .. the service on the day was really slow.. my only positive about the day was the food was nice .. really need to work on service and staffing customer service skills especially if that was management who phoned me up ..
We came to celebrate my daughter’s 20th birthday and specifically chose here as I have read good things about the carvery that has recently been added to the menu. So we came for that. And we were not disappointed! It was a beautiful carvery and we all enjoyed it very much. The only change I would make is to have horseradish sauce out as you had beef on, but that is just a little point, not a complaint. Overall very happy with it and will definitely come back especially for the carvery again.
