Simon and Nina Cole welcome you to The White Lion Inn, Llanelian yn Rhos, just outside Colwyn Bay, in Conwy, North Wales; a beautiful historic Olde Worlde Country Pub and Restaurant with log fires, good traditional food, fine wines, and real ales, all served up in a family friendly relaxed atmosphere.
The White Lion is possibly the oldest country inn in North Wales with parts of the building reputed to date back over 1200 years; part of the existing pub served as a shippon and a granary, very apt you might think. The current building still retains its original Welsh slate floor and oak beamed ceiling: a 19th century church pew is utilised as one of the seats for customers. We have not forgotten the 21st century and offer a free WiFi service to help you keep in touch with today’s electronic age.
The pub has featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for over 25 years and recently received an award. We are proud to be Cask Marque registered and always carry a mix of local and national real ale. We are also one of only five “Approved” entries in the Good Pub Guide within a twenty mile radius. In addition to Real Ales, we have developed, with Majestic Wines, an extensive Wine List to offer customers the perfect accompaniment to their meal.
We offer a wide selection of food from sandwiches to beautiful home cooked meals, coupled with our personal service to make your visit memorable and hopefully one of many.

Christmas dinner at The White Lion Inn was fabulous! The food was beautiful and my family filled their boots there was so much . The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with log fires burning , we all felt very relaxed. Simon and Nina our hosts were very hands on and their staff were attentive , polite and nothing was too much trouble for them… We had some special requirements which were accommodated without fuss so we all sat back and enjoyed a feast, three courses of delicious food and wine. We all appreciated the hard work put into such a big day. Thank you everyone at The White Lion Inn for a lovely Christmas dinner.
Found this place on a google search when looking for best roast dinners. Off the beaten track & a has higher rating than more expensive establishments in the area So glad we tried it. Lovely pub with a roaring fire. The food & very friendly service more than lived up to the reviews. Best Sunday roast we've had for years. We will definitely be back.

Amazing place in beautiful location in North Wales. Delicious food including burgers, lamb roast and broccoli Stilton soup with freshly baked bread. Friendly and very helpful staff. Reasonable prices. I would highly recommend to everyone looking for good food around Colwyn Bay and definitely would go back!
We had a great time, lovley meal, the service was fantastic & especially helpful. The place has great character & charm, surrounded by wonderful views, if your a local, you're very lucky to have this on your doorstep.

The Pen-y-Bryn might look a little bit like a medical centre from the front, but inside, you'll find lovely oak floors, open fires, bookcases and old furniture: it all looks very handsome, and we think its unassuming looks from the outside add to the feel
