For the past 30 years (over a quarter of a century) we have tried to keep the Crostwick White Horse as traditional pub as possible. Where a pleasant mix of regulars can chat to the bar staff whilst perched on stools, or for those just passing through to be treated as friends rather than strangers. Over the years, with the help of our very kind customers donating so many trinkets and collectables - which can be seen inside and out around the pub and even in the gardens.
We have so many memories - happy times and sad times. The pub has been a hub of many generations who live near and afar, with customers returning to find we are still here after all these years. We have been extremely lucky in maintaining our team off staff, so a special thank you to all of them, some of which are still working here after 30 years! We must be doing something right.

Reason for my rating wasn't for the food or the restaurant it's self, me and my partner have been regularly going to the white horse for lunch over the last 6 months. Also lovely food. This time round I had the big Yorkshire and sausages. The gravy they use was onion gravy which am allergic to onions. I asked if they wouldn't mind doing a normal gravy but sadly they wouldn't, which I will point out they did before. Everything else was lovely.
Had my mum’s birthday meal here last night and I’d let them know it was her birthday and the staff very kindly put a birthday balloon on our table and brought a bowl of ice cream out for her, singing happy birthday! Really nice personal touches and very much appreciated- thank you! Maddie
Superb meal and desserts from The white horse, all the staff gave excellent customer service and Alex the Chef in the kitchen, his food was fantastic. Thank you to everyone for looking after us, especially Tracey. We will definetely be back 🌺loved the atmosphere in the pub lots of fun and laughter
Just back from a meal out with friends. Atmosphere inside and outside was great, food was brilliant. My wife had mushroom and spinach lasagne, delicious. I had the beef and Guinness pie, thin pastry, chunks of meat delicious. My friend had the suet steak pie, thin pastry loads of meat, delicious and his partner had the skate, cooked to perfection. Thank you, we will be back.
We've been going to this pub/restaurant for many years. Before covid, we felt that it had been going downhill for a while regarding a massive menu which we found strange 🤔, cook and chill possible? The interior was dull and dark. Food was just run of the mill. I think the last time we went, I was very disappointed with the roast, so we decided to re visit at the weekend. WOW just WOW, we both agreed that everything had changed, interior bright, reasonable menu size, absolutely fine. Staff were excellent, smiling and caring for what the customer is requesting, polite. The food? AMAZING 👏. We went to pay the bill and mentioning that we thought there was new owners in. "No" was her answer and that the landlady has been running for 34 years! 10/10 The White Horse. We will definitely return and recommend. Absolutely spot on.
