This was the second time we have stayed here. First time was OK. (2021) we stayed Dec 2023 what a great improvement. Leslie was so amazing staff were lovely too. Clean room nice added touches in bathroom. Had an evening meal which was really good. Freshly cooked and very good value. Breakfast was like a banquet. Continental and the full English was again cooked to perfection. We will definitely stay there again.
Lovely B&B, couldn't expect anything more for £54 a night. Rooms clean and comfortable. Hospitality tray basic but plentiful. Shower small but adequate. Plenty of storage. Breakfast absolutely wonderful apart from the sausages. All staff pleasant. Excellent value for money and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay x
Receptionist on booking in was quite surly, tried chatting but not very sociable. Hotel is beautiful but like a sauna. Heating far too high for all our party, not comfortable. Came back from our function just before eleven pm ready for a nightcap in the bar, but it was closed and noone available even to get milk etc. we had been told the bar closed at midnight.A lovely place with stunning views, nice rooms,comfortable bar, but needs a bit of sorting in some areas. We met family and friends there but we all agree it’s not somewhere we would recommend.
This is a nice hotel in a great location a couple of miles from Thirsk and at an economic rate. Excellent car park and lawns. Hotel was in very good order, clean and the receptionist very friendly and competent. As a function venue for weddings and meetings it has ample space with a large bar / dining area and adjacent function room. The bedroom was totally adequate, well decorated and seemed to have been refurbished recently to a high standard with excellent bathroom. Unfortunately the refurbishment did not include addition of sound installation between rooms a big downside with voices clearly audible from next door. Breakfast not included in room rate and was continental only on my stay, apparently due to chef being away. However, if you want a convenient inexpensive stay in a comfortable room the White Horse Lodge fits the bill.
room was a nice big size bed was comfortable but the sides of the bed being a box frame was harsh on the backs of our legs getting in and out. need to have a good carpenter to cut down the sides or something. as i understood from the manager talking about it .this was the only room (13)with this bed stile .as it was the model for the rest of the rooms so it will need addressing for future
