Great pub, nice choice of drinks and a great pizza
Great pub and has some history inside the pub
Very old pub that clearly has alot of character. Low ceiling so very easy to bang my head but can't complain because of the age, its also has great pizzas, best spent a good few hours waiting here for the very infrequent train service back to ellesmere port. Also not to expensive!
The staff told me i couldnt use a gift card which in the end i did after spwnding £25 or more the food did not come sizzling but full off water of the amount of onions on the dish the steak was full of grizzle and bourbon sauce was thick like glue . so only 3 stars as not enjoyable experience .
This was only the second time I have been to this Pub, I went with my friend for a chat at lunchtime. It is a lovely pub, full of beams and small places to chat. It was not too busy so enough places to sit and hold a conversation. I was surprized at the choice of drinks like Gin, I would recommend the Rhubarb and Ginger flavour served with fruit. The staff are friendly and made us feel welcome. I will definately be going back. Ps there is an original well in the building which was found during restoration work. Worth a visit just to see that.
