This is a very traditional English pub, not far from Rutland Water. The food was good and reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive. We really enjoyed our meal and drinks. A great stop off if you are in the area.
Nice little find here, we visited mid afternoon and so there were few visitors at the time, hence the slightly low mark for atmosphere. Staff were lovely, good selection of wines and beers. The menu was pretty good and food was excellent, well presented, freshly cooked. Decent sized car park, easy access for all.
This is the 2nd time we have been here as a vegetarian it is difficult to find a place around Rutland that has options. Food is good, nothing out of the ordinary and reasonably priced. Staff is friend and has decent options for drinks.
Literally had to eat my dinner at arms length. Party of 8 and not one of us could fit our legs under the table it was so low and the seats so high. Quite an uncomfortable experience. Putting that aside, I had Roast lamb which was okay but nothing special. Others had scampi which they said was nice. The cheesecake was probably the best of the lot. Staff looked sad the entire time and we had to ask a few times for drinks. Personally I wouldn’t bother visiting again.
